We can talk about 3 stages:
a) Stage of total recovery:
Complete recovery from MS without leaving any residual symptoms. This is possible in patients with an early diagnosis of MS. With fewer lesions in brain, where the spine is not affected or where the lesions are small on the spinal cord; without having serious symptoms like walking debility or incontinence etc. EDSS 1-3.5 (for more info read staging of MS according to PAMS).
Expected results after 3 years PAMS
b) Stage of improvement and stability
Patients between EDDS 4-6 are considered to belong to this stage. Those who can walk independently but with some difficulties or those who need walking aid, those with balancing issues, lack of bowel and bladder control, or vision problems, or fine motoric symptoms, extreme fatigue, etc, fall under this category. (For more info read staging of MS according to PAMS) stabilization of MS and improvement of MS symptoms. Stages of prevention- preventing the progression of disease.
C) Stages of management
For patients above EDSS 6.5, progression can be slowed down with continuous therapies and PAMS herbal medications.
For patients in the early stages of MS, there is a very good chance of becoming symptom-free, achieving stable or clearer MRI results, and leading a normal life by following our medical and lifestyle guidance. Some of our patients have maintained this state for 15 years without any MS-related issues.
In more advanced stages, MS can be effectively managed, significantly slowing or even halting its progression, resulting in a greatly improved quality of life. This outcome requires dedication to the recommended treatment plan and consistent application of the knowledge gained during their stay, including herbal preparations, therapies, dietary habits, sleep patterns, and other essential lifestyle adjustments.
Required Medical Documents for Treatment
Before starting treatment, it is essential to bring a recent MRI film or CD along with reports from your neurologist and radiologist, taken within three months before starting the treatment). If the reports are available in English, that is preferred; otherwise, we can translate them using ChatGPT. The MRI report should include details such as:
– Number and location of lesions
– Brain volume
– Other relevant findings
A fresh MRI is recommended before starting treatment and should be repeated annually to track disease progression and adjust the treatment plan.
In addition to the MRI, please bring other relevant test results, including:
– Perimetry test (for vision disturbances)
– Vitamin B12 and B3 screening
– Visual Evoked Potential (VEP) test
– Nerve conduction test

If obtaining an MRI in your country is difficult, you can have it done in India at our affiliated labs, which provide just for our patients specialized, research-oriented MRI reports (PAMS recommended). These reports are often difficult to obtain from other labs or testing centers.

Most relapses can be managed within the first 60 days of the PAMS treatment. However, in more aggressive forms of MS, additional treatments (a second or third round) may be necessary to control further relapses and disease progression.
In some cases, patients may experience multiple relapses within a year. If a patient arrives at Ayush Prana with active disease, a relapse may still occur despite starting treatment.
For mild to moderate relapses, herbal medications can help manage symptoms effectively. However, it typically takes a minimum of three weeks for the treatment to reach all body systems, take full effect, slow disease deterioration, and stop its progression.
In the case of a severe relapse, corticosteroids may be required as an emergency measure to control the attack.
Our team will closely monitor your condition and, based on your needs, adjust the treatment plan as needed to ensure the best possible outcome.
Treating Multiple Sclerosis effectively requires intensive therapies, comprehensive care along with radical lifestyle changes, including adjustments to diet, sleep, and physical activity.
At Ayush Prana, these changes play a crucial role in recovery and must be followed carefully, especially during the inpatient period. Each patient will receive a personalized lifestyle plan (pathya) designed to support their healing process.
For the best results, it is essential to follow pathya consistently. Not adhering to the prescribed lifestyle may increase the risk of complications during or after treatment. Our team will provide ongoing guidance and support to help patients adjust to these changes. However, if a patient repeatedly struggles to follow the prescribed path, we will issue reminders and, if necessary, a formal notice to reinforce the importance of commitment. In cases of continued non-compliance, we may have to reconsider the continuation of treatment.
We warmly welcome those who are dedicated to completing their full course of treatment at Ayush Prana (please refer to our online consultation for more details).
The prescribed lifestyle may be more challenging for individuals who:

Ayush Prana is situated at the end of a small village in a silent area with almost no traffic. Still, we wish to discourage the expectations of a 100% stillness. At times there may be some noise due to maintenance work of the place, or the neighbourhood where the music can be heard from the nearby Church, Temple, or Mosque. It is at the same time a very safe place, without any infractions, where the tourists or any foreigners are welcomed by the locals. One of the most beautiful things here is the familiar and the relaxed atmosphere and out exceptionally friendly staff.
India has a predominantly humid climate, and first-time visitors may be surprised by the humidity upon arrival. However, most patients adapt naturally within a few days.
Our hospital enjoys a naturally cooler environment compared to the surrounding areas, thanks to a small river running parallel to the campus and an abundance of trees providing ample shade.

Additional Considerations
· After leaving our place with all the herbal medicines, we will provide a customs clearance certificate confirming that the herbs are for medical purposes and not toxic.
Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) are international quality standards established by the World Health Organization (WHO) to ensure the safety, consistency, and effectiveness of medicines. India adopted GMP in 1988 as a legal requirement for Ayurvedic drug manufacturers under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act (1945).
In India, Ayurvedic medicines can only be produced in GMP-certified facilities, ensuring strict quality control at every stage—from sourcing raw materials to final production. This minimizes the risk of contamination, mix-ups, and errors while maintaining high safety and efficacy standards.
GMP certification is a seal of quality, guaranteeing that Ayurvedic medicines are prepared using authentic ingredients and standardized methods. As the world’s second-largest pharmaceutical producer, India follows GMP to meet global safety standards and ensure the effectiveness of its traditional medicines.
PAMS treatment consists of three cycles, with each inpatient therapy lasting 50–60 days. During this period, patients must take herbal preparations, covering 180 days of inpatient care and 965 days of post-treatment medication. The exact duration may vary based on individual needs, with the final decision made during consultation (see Dr. Prasanth’s Ayurveda).
After completing the three treatment cycles, patients can discontinue our herbal medicines. However, those with an EDSS score below 3.5 may stop earlier if advised, but the others would be recommended to continue our herbal medication for a longer period of time, according to PAMS protocol. Some patients choose to continue long-term due to the additional health benefits, including nervous system recovery, digestive health support, and disease prevention. Since these medicines are well-tolerated with no side effects, they can be safely continued if desired.
After finishing the 3 cycles of treatments the herbal preparations can be discontinued. Normally these medicines help in rejuvenation, recovering of the nervous system, keeping the digestive system in form, and prevention of diseases
Since this is a research institute, all patient data are recorded with utmost accuracy so that we can find a lasting cure for MS in the future. And so, everybody is invited to participate in the program to find the solution for MS. We include all our patients in the research program since it is essential, and we request your cooperation with us.
MS requires hardcore treatment as well as radical changes in lifestyle that include dietary changes, sleep habits, exercising etc. During treatment with Ayush Prana these lifestyle changes must be followed and specifically during the inpatient period i.e., when the patient is admitted. A prescribed lifestyle is explained to each patient which must be strictly followed..
It is of the utmost importance that the gross improvement will happen only with these pathya (the prescribed lifestyle during treatment). if it is not followed thoroughly, complications may arise during or after the treatment. We shall constantly remind the patient of these pathya. If they are seen to lack the motivation to follow this pathya exactly, and in cases of defiance of the pathya and the changes, a letter of warning will be served to you. Also, those who are willing to complete the full course of treatment at Ayush Prana are welcome to stay here ( refer for online consultation)
This pathya will be challenging to those:
For those who cannot travel due to physical disability can take our herbal medication. Once the patient’s condition has improved, they are welcome to come for the treatment. Please register on the page to have an appointment for the consultation and prescription of the medicines.
The first day, on reaching Ayush Prana, the patient will spend the day resting and sleeping only. It is important to get some rest after the travel in order to cope with the therapies. The treatment as a preparation for Shirovasti will be done the next day.
A typical day at Ayush Prana will feature doctors’ visit, treatments, social activities if preferred, meditation and yoga, etc… Patients will be motivated to wake up early and go to sleep at around 9.00PM.
It is not preferable to travel during Ayurvedic treatment. A state of complete rest is advised.
Since the therapies extend over a long period of time, with doctors’ consent one may undertake short travel to nearby sightseeing locations once the patient’s condition is stabilized. There are few beautiful locations one can visit.
Even though there are many unknown causative factors for MS, Dr. Prasanth could find in almost all the patients during hundreds of consultations some common factors listed as follows:
60-70% of Multiple Sclerosis patients have neuro-immune axis, what is triggered by uncontrolled prolonged infections by certain microorganisms, toxicity, immune compromised conditions like prolonged childhood infections, and frequent antibiotic intake etc.
There are no unwanted side effects from the treatment or herbs. The doctor’s role is to select the most suitable herbs and therapies throughout the day to achieve the best and fastest results. In rare cases, a patient may experience mild skin rashes if they are not accustomed to oil treatments, but these typically subside within a few days.
In addition to its primary effects, the rejuvenation treatment may also bring benefits such as improved hair growth, relief from tinnitus, better diabetes management, restored hormonal balance in women, and enhanced mental well-being.
Some patients may naturally lose a few kilograms during their stay in India due to the detoxifying effects of Ayurveda. However, this is typically balanced upon returning home. Those aiming for weight management can sustain their results by following the Ayurvedic lifestyle principles learned during treatment.
For optimal results, we do not recommend combining allopathic medicine with Ayurvedic herbs, as their effects contradict each other. While allopathy suppresses symptoms and weakens the immune system, Ayurveda restores balance and supports natural healing.
Thus, all our patients follow an herbal-only approach from day one. If you are on prescribed medication, our specialists can guide you through a smooth and beneficial transition.
